Books of Blood is a 2020 American anthology horror film directed by Brannon Braga and co-written by Braga and Adam Simon. It is based on Books of Blood by Clive Barker. The film tells three stories, two of which are loose adaptations from the titular horror fiction anthology: “The Book of Blood” (“Miles”) and “On Jerusalem Street” (“Bennett”).
This was filmed on location and in studio in Nova Scotia, Canada. We built many interiors on stage, including the hidden areas throughout the Sam and Ellie’s farmhouse. Other highlights for me were creating the abandoned town of “Ravenmore” by heavily dressing real neighborhoods, and creating the psych lab that Simon covers in blood soaked imagery and words.
